(KMJ) 52 year old Jeremiah Espino has died three weeks after suffering severe burns in a massive gas line explosion in northwest Fresno.
The Fresno Co. Sheriffs Department says the Sanger man passed away Monday afternoon at CRMC.
Espino, was an inmate at Fresno Co. jail and was on a work program when the blast occurred at the Sheriff’s Foundation Gun Range April 17. A front-end loader struck an underground PG&E pipe causing the explosion which could be seen for miles.
Two other inmates and the equipment operator remain hospitalized. Several other victims have been released from care.
There are currently a number of investigations underway into the deadly accident.
