(KMJ) An aide to California Attorney General Kamala Harris and two others have been arrested for impersonating a police officer in Southern California.
The LAPD says Brandon Kiel was taken into custody after he claimed that he belonged to a secret police force called the Masonic Fraternal Police Department that has existed for over 3,000 years.
The organization, according to its website, “is the oldest and most respected organization in the ‘World.’” It traces its lineage back to the 1100 B.C., when it was founded by “the ‘Knights Templar’s” — or, as the website would have it, “The Masonic Fraternal Police Department, (M.F.P.D.) is the Knights Templar’s!”
Investigators say they have seized weapons, badges and vehicles outfitted to resemble police cars.
The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station began investigating the group after members met with actual police and could not answer his questions about MFPD’s mission and jurisdiction, according to a news release from LAPD.
